Samba hates my Hard Drive! FTP loves it.

Like the title says....
So here i go with the explanation.
I have a linux server rinning PROFTPD for obvious reasons, and SAMBA running for sharing folders with my windows computers.

The problem comes when I transfer files. I can transfer a 2gig test file both ways through FTP all day long. The transfer goes
perfectly with no errors. But, when I try and transfer the test file TO or FROM the folder shared out to windows, I get 300 megs into the transfer and boom, error.

Any ideas as to why FTP will work for large file Xfers and not SAMBA?

Thanks in advance.

You should check your samba log files, they are usually in /var/log/samba... I would also check out the main system log file /var/log/messages...
