Sam Adam's Triple Bock?

I saw this at the liquor store and it was like $4.50 for a little ass 8 oz. bottle. Is this drink exclusively for high rollers? Explain.

It's a special edition, they put out a limited edition each year. 24% abv, iirc. Like brandy 🙂

It's more like a liquor, closer to a cordial or an aperitif than a beer. It's kind of insane really, they recommend a bottle is 3 servings, like you'd serve cognac. Do the math and you'll find out the Sam Adams is around triple the price per serving of a decent cognac like Courvoisier. It's marketed to the image conscious and the truly stupid. It's not bad if you like that sort of drink, but if you like that sort of drink there are far better choices for a lot less money.
