Sam Adams Brown Ale
:thumbsup:

Sam Adams Honey Porter
:thumbsdown:

Have yet to try black. That Honey crap has a really bad after taste.

I don't think I've bought a "Brewmaster" pack, but I do like some Sam Adams ... my favorites are the original Boston lager & the Seasonal Winter ales.

Black Lager is great :thumbsup:

I've never seen the Honey Porter, alone or in a mix pack.

The last mixed pack (Summer Styles) I got had:
Summer Ale :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Cherry Wheat :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Hefeweizen :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Pale Ale :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Boston Ale :thumbsup:
Boston Lager :thumbsup:

My wife picked up this case. I like the Brown Ale and the Honey Porter. I've had the Black Ale before and didn't care for it, but I haven't tried it out of this case; I may change my mind.

My question: why did they include the regular Boston Lager in this special pack? Come on!!

Tell us what types you like and what region you are in.

Also, your local supermarket is probably going to be limited.

Yeah, not a fan at all of the Honey Porter, has a weird flavor.

I really like the black ale, but sparingly.

The best in the case are the Boston Ale and Boston Lager.

Overall though, I wasn't very impressed with the case in general.

Good luck.

Eh Sam Adams is ok. Its nice cause you can get it at most bars. I like most of their beers but i am really not a fan of their winter lager. I DO really enjoy their summer ale tho, quite refreshing....quite refreshing indeed.

I have bad luck with mix packs (sam adams or otherwise), I always seem to end up with like 4 of one flavor a none of the one I realy wanted to try. I got one of those summer packs and had 4 cherry wheat but no summer ale, luckily the cherry wheat is good. I remember buying a flying dog mix pack and ending up with 5 "In-Heat Wheat", which is quite possibly the worse tasting stuff I've ever drank.

Dude, you live in Brooklyn. You have several great beer stores in your borough. Alot of them are just supermarkets with beer fanatics as managers. Check out the Beerfly Directory on BeerAdvocate.

The Black is quite light, despite how dark it might look. Incredibly tasty too. Possibly their best recent creation. I run through the Boston Ale whenever I can get a deal on a case. It's better then the lager; very savory.

Brown Ale, how would you say it compares to Newcastle?

Picked up a 24pack of one of these at Costco.

I actually like the Honey Porter one. Same with the Black Lager. Is the summer pack already available, or do I need to wait a month or 2?

for some reason, since I got the whole pack at a discount, I discounted all their lineup respectively, I didn't like any of Samuel Adam's offering at all. The Black Lager was, imho, the biggest dispappointment since I lovvvve heavy, dark beer.

the Samuel Adam regular is still the best (or most honest) out of everything they make.
granted, I haven't tried their Utopia ;p

QFT. Additionally, most supermarkets will carry a few local/regional crafts, as well as decent stuff like Sierra Nevada. Check beeradvocate. You won't regret it.

The black isn't a heavy beer, it's just the color. It's meant to be light to medium body, less hoppy then pale ales, & not anywhere as intense as stouts. A great middle ground with much more taste then anyone expected out of the offering.

:beer:🙂
