Salvaging files from terrible DVDRs?

I backed up a ton of files to DVDR a few months ago. Little did I know that the DVDRs were pieces of crap. I've got TYs now, but explorer has trouble reading the DVDRs (sometimes doesn't want to read them, hesitates at every step, etc.). Are there any methods/programs to get all I can off the DVDR without "Not Responding" lockups and all that other kind of junk? Thanks so much...

Didn't know where data backup would fit, since it's not exactly software... oh well... thanks for the help.

I'll try the rescue program... don't really want to risk a TY if the copy doesn't work.

I'm trying DVD Decrypter now... save as ISO, and I'll try to extract the ISO...

Hmm.. DVD X Rescue looks promising, but it's also 50 bucks. Any other options before I take the plunge?

Well, I'm 1 for 1 with DVD Decrypter to an ISO, then extracting the ISO with WinRAR. Will update for others' reference if it keeps its high batting average going :)
