routine exposure to pathogens is a basic strategy of our immunity. Otherwise we aren't prepared to fight off bad infections.

Our society is too "germ free" the way it is...

You mean like every fucking soap and possible cleaner has bleach added to it, and is marketed at killing 99.9% of germs?

It's ok to live knowing that counter top may have germs, they might save your life later on.

haha we are all poisoning ourselves!🙂🙂🙂
were the proverbial romans drinking out of lead vats
drugs poison germs brainnnnnn scramble!

The reported cases are probably only a small percentage of the people who have been impacted by this. If you have stomach issues, and do go to a doctor, odds are they aren't going to do the necessary tests and report to the CDC unless you demanded it or were very severly affected.

"Salmonella infections usually resolve in five to seven days, and many times require no treatment, unless the patient becomes severely dehydrated or the infection spreads from the intestines. "

Haven't changed my habits at all, but then again I am a picky eater already and work in the food processing industry. One thing to keep in mind, though, is those numbers only represent reported/confirmed cases. I'd be interested to know how many have not been reported.

Last Saturday afternoon I came down with a bad case of food poisoning. I had a 103 degree fever that lasted for about 36 hours and my stomach would not process any food.

Luckily I was able to recover quickly, but I wonder if what I came down with was related to the "outbreak".

Hell no. I probably have a better chance of getting in a car crash going to work or something.

No...she got the gonorrhea from Sanchez the bus boy in the back.....salmonella was just a cover.

LOL @ Texas. FAIL!

It's just part of natural selection. I still eat raw tomatoes in yummy burgers. Nothing happens.
