I know their sales people constantly pester you if you sign up for a trial on their website (both with phone calls and in email).
They also put sales training material that is obsurdly outdated and false about their competitors. (I work for one.)

Is salesforce worth the fees? I want to sign up my company for something like what they have.

I use it. An intranet wikipedia can do 90% of what salesforce does if your people are technical enough to learn a markup language and it doesen't cost anything.

90%, not eve close when you consider some of the higher functions of CRM. (team selling, reports, relationship mining, automated workflow, etc).

bingo. Plus, that's like saying all wives can do engine overhauls if they are technical enough to learn car repair. That's not the function of the wife :D
