Sales Tax

I live in Cattaraugus County in NY. We pay 8.25 cents on the dollar. Erie County had voted not to raise the sales tax to 9.5 The declining income of Buffalo, a lot to do with the poor performance of the Buffalo Bills and the NHL lockout in which the Buffalo Sabres players have been looking elsewhere to play, has hurt our city.

My question is though, would you want to pay a hefty sales tax to help a suffering city or have comunity services shut down/removed and keep tax how it is?(laying off Police,Firemen,Closing Libraries, parks, etc.)

I'm kinda torn on this issue, but I think I would rather pay a little more sales tax.
