I was offered the transfer for a new position today, and I have to respond in 24 hours.
I originally didn't want the position because it would increase my responsibilities and possibly more overtime. I'm a youth pastor and a student on nights and weekends, so I wouldn't say that I have much time to spare. However, one of my bosses persuaded me to at least apply and see what happens since I didn't move on the open position. She said that it would increase my pay by about $10 - $15 (going from an AI to AIII) more per hour.
Anyway, I got the offer letter from HR, but the increased pay was less than $1 ($.89 to be exact), and appears to be $10 from the low range amount I was quoted. The HR rep is in another state, so there is a possibility of miscommunication.
Do I talk to my immediate boss, or do I talk to my HR rep first?
Thanks in advance from you professionals out there.
