Salary question

I was offered the transfer for a new position today, and I have to respond in 24 hours.

I originally didn't want the position because it would increase my responsibilities and possibly more overtime. I'm a youth pastor and a student on nights and weekends, so I wouldn't say that I have much time to spare. However, one of my bosses persuaded me to at least apply and see what happens since I didn't move on the open position. She said that it would increase my pay by about $10 - $15 (going from an AI to AIII) more per hour.

Anyway, I got the offer letter from HR, but the increased pay was less than $1 ($.89 to be exact), and appears to be $10 from the low range amount I was quoted. The HR rep is in another state, so there is a possibility of miscommunication.

Do I talk to my immediate boss, or do I talk to my HR rep first?

Thanks in advance from you professionals out there.

So you're saying that I should eat more ruffage? Thanks, but I think I have my bowel movements under control.

Any ideas on the original question?

Say no I like where I am right now, but if the offer were higher I'd consider it.

I'd take it up with your boss first since she was the one who suggested it in the first place. She may have some insight that could be valuable to know before speaking with the HR rep.

If you're cool with your current boss then I'd definitely talk to that person first.
