My friend asked me for advice in salary negotation for a job she was just recently hired for. Do you have any links to articles involving how to best oneself in this task? Or do you happen to have a bit of personal experience you can give pointers on?

edit:// For those that don't seem to understand what I'm saying: She was told she got the job. They are to start salary negotiations. After that is over, she will actually start her job. She is in need of a good article or advice regarding how to do these negotiations best... Really, how hard is that?

Not the best combination, I'd say.

Look, she got the job. They have not officially hired her I guess because they have salary negotations. Stop trying to critique ...

I'm worth much more than the employer is willing to pay. I'm also worth much more than any of his options.
With that attitude, some luck, and a good amount of respect, I'm going to wrangle out top dollar.
If I suck and know it, then I'm going to accept a lot less.
Delivering that message without making the employer feel inferior or threatened is the key.
