salary negotiation question

I might be getting a new offer sometime soon,

I was wondering how much of a pay increase I should be targeting , i currently make about 73k , and live in california, i work for a medium sized company which means i have a ton of responsibility and lot of hands on experience, I might be moving to a much bigger company.

Is 10-15% increase expecting too much, I am thinking something around 85k,

thanks

well much bigger company = less responsibility...so why are you expecting any "more"? i mean what your asking for should be based off what your doing not your past experience unless you can justify it in some way...

much bigger company doesnt neccasarily mean less reponsibility, well not much less anyway

I received a job offer recently, they gave me an 18% raise above what I was making - didnt do any negotiation. Now I'm thinking I should have negotiated for a bit more. 😉
I guess whatever you make, you feel like a bit more would have been better.

Shtty thing about software engineering is that you reach a cap and then you don't move up any more (or at least it gets much harder).
