Hello! I am a fresh college graduate with Masters degree in computer engineering. I didn't work after my bachelor and only have one internship experience (3 months) with intel while I was enrolled as a first year masters student. I got an offer recently and the base salary is 83K. The hr told me my total compensation will be about 92K with bonus (i still don't have good idea about their bonuses).

So, I am a bit concerned about my base salary. Considering other companies and also intel should I ask for more? I would really appreciate any inputs in this regard.

Sorry, I am not familiar with it. However I know about the stock purchase program.

LOL you are going to get paid 80-90k with basically zero fucking experience and you are concerned that your salary is low?

I shouldn't do this but let me take a look at the Compensation Manual .... for your degree and experience, $62,500

Sounds good. I don't see what you're concerned about. The friends I know that work at Intel get paid between 65k-75k fresh out of college with a BS.

Is op trolling to make everyone else getting paid minimum or unemployed feel bad?

My first thought is that an $83K starting salary for a newly graduating MSEE sounds pretty good!

If you need more reassurance, perhaps you can ask the placement department at your school to provide you with an expected salary range for new graduates with your degree.

Oregon bound?

This is the moment in your life that you realize engineering might not have been the best choice.
It's ok. All engineers have that moment.

$92k total is awesome for not having any experience though.

you have zero experience, 83k+bonus sounds near the top end.

that being said, I always go for 1 round of salary negotiations. keep in mind they do not move on base, they may be able to move on things like vacation, signing bonus, etc. all depends on the company.

Masters degree, relevant experience and very godo grades (3.5+/4.0) would probably get soemone $10,000 mroethan that.

$80K+ for a nwe engineer is rediculous. Take it and move on.

your location and COL is important. but unless you have other offers on the table or expect to have some, not really sure what the debate is.

you can always ask for more money. seems like the bigger the company the less wiggle room they will give you, especially as entry level peon.

take the job, you will figure out pretty quickly if you are underpaid. once you have some experience, if you are qualified and underpaid, getting a raise or finding a better job will be easier
