What others said. Many folks here at Silicon Valley became jobless. Some were even demoralised. Many had to move to afford a place to rest their heads. So many tech businesses that expanded, bought spaces and changed the map of Silicon Valley are now closed down. When sending references, I see people who worked for those tech companies before but now are reduced to working at lower pay but stable jobs in another field.
So to answer your question: Yes, it depends upon area, as others already said. However, you'll hardly find any place offering $50-60K for entry level tech positions as they once did. And you'll hardly find positions for job titles that were once luxuries.
I'm glad I didn't dive into the tech business. I am happily working in the healthcare industry and there's always demands for nurses and the money flowing. Yes, things slow down, but not half as bad as it affects the tech industry.
