I tried the scratch and dent from their website. It seemed like a great deal...
I received a joystick/throttle that looked like it might have been dropped out of an airplane. It almost worked, but when it did not, I ended up working with tech support for about 30 days, trying various fixes. New software, new USB card, wiped my harddrives and reloaded all my software. Finally tried it on another computer, still did not work. In frustration, I broke down and bought a new one for $80 at BB. Plugged it in and it worked. Just received my credit back from their online store the other day, nearly 2 months after I bought the refurb one. Although, they were nice enough to pay return shipping for the defective unit.
The new one works great, except they apparently do not include the pinkie switch extension anymore, the driver support seems sketchy at best, and the D button on the throttle keeps getting stuck in the on position. I would advise that you read the online support forums to figure out what drivers you should use, the ones they ship on the CD don't seem to be the right ones for any version of Windows.
Awesome joystick, if you can get it to work.:disgust:
