Hmm, I'm looking at the Saitek Eclipse and it's a nice keyboard, but the reviews on Newegg say that the keys rub off... what's the story on this?

I'm talking about the Eclipse... where the letters are transparent. And what stickiness?

No premature wear on my Eclipse. I'm using it to type this. I got it for Christmas so any evident wear would have to be premature.

I have an eclipse keyboard the top of the keys appear to be painted leaving the letter clear so the led can shine through it. I like the feel of the keyboard no extra noise or clicky sounds. It has good key feel not stiff but not weak and shakey. But after about 4 or 5 months of gaming 10-15 hours a week on avg. The paint on the "F" key has worn away leaving a clear round spot. If you really want a great keyboard, according to reviews and my friend it's the bee's knees, get the Deck http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/input/72e2/ . Reviewed here as well http://www.dansdata.com/deck.htm .

I have the Saitek Gamer, good keyboard, but should have gotten the Eclipse since the keys on that one is see through, unlike the gamer, which is my big gripe. Barely use the additonal gamer pad it comes with.
