I think this money could have been used to help the average struggling Katrina victim instead of padding millionaires pockets. Maybe the players will donate some of their bonus?

From the whining and crying coming from the Saints players, I wouldn't expect those spoiled bastards to share a dime. They seem to think that their lives are hard because they are having to spend the whole season away from their million dollar homes that only suffered wind damage at the worst.

I am a Katrina survivor and struggled, spent a lot of money related to the storm and I have not gotten one single penny.

The Government claims to be spending billions on every individual, I bet they are eveen claiming to have spent money on me. Not one penny have I seen.

1) You are not average.

2) You do not whine loud enough.

True, not really whining, more of a rant.

Explain on why I am not average.

I am not average on staying in the city to help with vital communications.

Not that I am asking for any thanks or anything but to get skunked on any monetary assistance when I see rich folks getting a ton of money they don't actually need and did not do anything to help here is frustrating to say the least.

Actually the NFL has done some positve things for the Katrina victims. Unlike companies like TicketMaster which imposed a "special handling" fee of 10 dollars for tickets to the Saints game moved to New York. When criticized about this Ticketmaster said they would donate the money to Katrina victims. However, they seem to have forgotten to do it.
As to the money given to the Saints it is a smart business decision. Football players have a short career and the right to free agency. The status of the Saints threatens to eliminate any chance of the Saints fielding a competitve team next season.
The league showing some money now is hoping to influence players to stay and/or sign with the Saints. Which is good for New Orleans in general.

It's the NFL's and NFLPA's money, not yours. Maybe liberals should stop telling private organizations how to spend their money?

As soon as private organizations (and their lobbyists) stop telling government how to spend OUR money.

It's also their money. People that pay millions in taxes should have some voice in government. Welfare bums with 0 tax payments do.
