This does not impress me at all. Put it in a 5 lbs package and try back later, Sager...

You ask for miracles then, LOFL. This is a desktop replacement of which is the dream of power users who want to be able to move it around and plug it in (perfect for LANs) and certainly you are a on the road user or else you'd probably have little beef with it.

Actually the impressive part about it is it's price, same power compared Alienwares which are a good $500-1000+ more.

While you're at it, do you want it to have a Fibre Channel SCSI Array attached to it? Or maybe a 40 Unit Rackmount Server Farm?

But on topic... the battery life on that thing has got to be horrendously low.

It's SXGA (1280x1024)

We ran Star Wars Attack of the Clones from a full charge and were able to get 1 hour and 42 Minutes. That was with full screen, default settings, and volume at 7 which is fine for sitting within a couple of feet and listening to.

100 some odd minutes while gaming (especially gaming of that caliber) isn't too shabby. But then Again that thing is huge and I'm not too sure it would be comfortable gaming in a situation where you don't have the ability to plug that sucker in.

Look at the next smaller sager, the 5680. Same graphics performance, smaller size, and lighter.

you give up the tv-tuner option and the RAID controller.

I'm probably gonna get a 5680 to replace a tosh 5205-S705(doh, it got stolen, I'm almost 'over' it).

Hey now... I own one of these sager laptops... not quite the one you guys have been looking at... But then I have had mine for a year now too. I think it's awesome. I rarely move it around so it's used as a desktop. Only reason I needed it small like a laptop is because in the military you move a lot and it's better than carrying around a darn monitor, tower, keyboard, and mouse everywhere. Plus it still has almost the same performance. Actually to tell you the truth... when I first got it no one I knew had a desktop more powerful than my laptop. I only could read about such desktops online. Now, it's just a different story. If you wanna see what I have, look here
