Note: don't say that KFC is better or stuff like that. Just remember that you are paying less!

Hi,
Safeway raised their 8 pc fried chicken's price from $5.99 to $6.99 since last month. Today, I realized that they sell "8pc legs/thighs" for $4.99, I don't think that it's a sale price. They somehow don't show it on the price on the big broad hanging on the ceiling, the little "8pc legs/thighs $4.99" shares half of the little 3" x 1" price tag with the $6.99 price, and it is sitting next to the fried chicken. Hardly anybody will see it at all.

Personally, I think that it is even better! I like the legs much better. So instead of 2 backs, 2 thighs, 2 legs and 2 thighs, you get 4 thighs and 4 legs. So I get the parts I like for LESS!

Have a nice day.

A year plus ago their entire roasted chicken was $4.99. Then they jacked it up to $5.99 which was a 20% increase in price during a time that inflation was theoretically at around 2%. Now they have gone up to $6.99. Their precooked ribs a little over a year ago were 28 ozs for $9.99. They then cut the portion size down to 20 ozs. Now the price is $11.99. That's a 66% increase in price in a little over a year. Their sourdough loaves were $1.29 a year plus ago. They are now $1.49 which is a 15% price increase. All this has taken place during a period of extremely low inflation as measured by the government indices. Of course, government statistics do NOT include food and fuel costs in the core rate of inflation. It's too bad neither Bush nor Kerry gives a hoot about the real word of day to day life for the typical American family.
