Safetly uninstalling Easy CD Creator 5 in XP.

Wheneaver I uninstall Easy CD 5 in XP I loose my CD burner, I then have to use the system restore function to get it back. I am now using Nero 5.5.7.2. Had to stop using Easy CD 5 because all the CDs burned were corrupted.
 
I'm using Easy CD Creator 5 with XP. Never ran into any problems with corrupted cd's yet. What kind of media was you using when you got the corrupted cd?
 
I really dont think the media (Maxell) was the problem because they worked fine in the past and now working with Nero. BTW I've found Nero to be faster than Easy CD 5.
