Safest food to order during a lunch interview?

Ribs and sandwiches are out, and I don't want to order a salad because it's too cliche.

Pasta, maybe?

We'll be going to a restaurant with a pretty diverse selection of foods, and I'm hoping to pick a dish that isn't too messy/won't stick in my teeth.

:)

I plan on avoiding alcoholic beverages at all costs. Sorry, minendo. :p

The interviewer will be paying.

EDIT: And I think I'll be too nervous to eat too much, although I haven't had a good filet mignon in awhile now.

Seafood something or another is usually good, dont go with beef or anything that would require too much chewing. Shrimp or chicken pasta is usually pretty safe I would think.

I doesn't matter. As long as you don't pull a George Costanza (see the episode where Jerry and Elain hook him up with a friend of Elaine's)

Haven't seen that one. What happened?

I'm thinking seafood/chicken pasta is a safe bet, too. Good suggestions, thanks. :)

pasta is fine except for spaghetti. salad is fine too, I don't think it's particularly cliche. what kind of job?

I do think it would be pretty cool to do a lunch interview for a job that you didn't care about, get ribs, corn on the cob, a pitcher of beer and talk with your mouth full the whole time.

When its lunch on the boss I always order what i want, wether its the most expensive thing or not. Unless the other guy orders a salad, then you go cheap. I had a steak once while my boss had a salad...felt kinda weird.

I'd rather not say yet, but I'll be sure to share the details if all goes well. :)

I like salads, but I don't want to be the "girl who doesn't eat anything and picks at her salad".

I like salads, but I don't want to be the "girl who doesn't eat anything and picks at her salad".

Instead, you will be the "girl who asks people on a message board what to eat at an interview, picks something that she would not normally eat but since her groupies chose this for her, she went ahead and ordered it, was then hired for this job off a false assumption that since she ordered dish A, she would be good for the job, but now sucks horribly at the job because she would normally order dish B."

Does it really fvckin matter what you order? No! Use common sense. People won't look into what you are ordering. Salad is too cliche? That ..nevermind..its just funny.
