Win8.1 x64.
The following happens for a few weeks already and it drives me nuts:
The notification icon for "safely remove hardware" (the green plug with the green check mark) is coming up and flashing for a fraction of a second, then disappears again. It happens very fast and randomly, on average every 15-20 seconds or so. Icon pops up, shifts everything in the taskbar and disappears again.
I don't know whether a software does this or possibly faulty hardware. I want to find out. Any idea how can I see what causes this icon to pop up?
Edit:
If it would be faulty hardware, say because of a broken cord etc. the system would think I constantly remove or plug in a device..there should be a log of this somewhere, right? But I can't find one.
