safely remove hardware icon

All of a sudden, I'm getting this "Safely remove hardware" icon in my task bar. When I click on it, it shows my 2 hard drives attached to my SATA connectors via a peripheral adapter. The icon never used to be there, but its there now.

I have an AMD 64 setup and all the drivers are loaded.

Ideas why it is there and how i can get rid of it?
 
I have the same problem. It apeared after you installed the latest nVidia platform drivers, right?

The only way I was able to deal with it so far is setting it to "always hide" in customize notifications..
