Safe way to clean aluminum

My case is brushed aluminum. It normally doesn't have a windows but I modded it. Inside I found a huge ugly QC stamp right in the center of the bottom where it is easily seen. What's the safest way to remove this? Acetone polish remover? Other? Thanks!

Try rubbing alcohol

Yup, I'd try whatever alcohol you have on hand first. If that doesn't work, try nail polish remover as many homes already have that (it is generally an acetone based solvent) or paint thinner. If you have to buy something as those didn't work, perhaps lighter fluid (sold under various brands like Zippo or Ronsonol or maybe store brands. I got my Ronsonol at Walmart in the Express checkout lane where they have individual packs of cigs and other tobacco stuff. I think you can also buy pure acetone at many WalMarts in the drug departments as well as strong alcohol (95% or more). Be careful with these things as most are highly flammable (particularly acetone) and harsh to the skin. GooGone is citrus oil based IIRC, so it shouldn't be as flammable, but it is more expensive than most of the other solvents.

wd40 works for adhesive removal very well too. i used to use that when goof off wouldnt remove old adhesive from our truck stickers here at my work. since its brushed finish, make sure you rub "with the grain". even if you do scratch it, at least the scratches will be going the same direction, not showing much if at all. if you rub it too much, you could end up partially shining that spot. not horrible, you can use a steel scrubber to redo the finish in a pinch. i used to work at a paint/ screen printing shop, we would do this on brushed finish all the time. if it got too bad we kicked it back to our engraving dept and had it refinished tho.
 
I doubt the QC mark is a sticky label, but it's probably done with a stamper and ink pad. Cooler master does that quite often. Big, ugly, purple stamp mark sticks out like a sore thumb...
