Safe way of removing Northbridge HSF?

I just purchased an Asus P4P800 board along with a Vantec Copper Northbridge cooler, whats the safest way to remove the heatsink off the northbridge? I plan on using the northbridge heatsink on the southbridge. Is Artic silver adhesive the best way to install this?

From the pictures of the P4P800 @ Newegg, it looks like it is held on by two little wire "arms" hooked under metal loops on the PCB. If this is the case, like on other Asus motherboards, you just need to unlook thouse and pull it right off. Clean it up with a little alcohol.

If there are no holes in the PCB around the NB, you will have to use an adhesive to attach the Vantec to it. The best one out there is AS thermal adhesive, but beware it is permanent. Make sure you like the board before you glue anything on. The same method of attachment should work for putting that HS on the SB too..

🙂

Y would you wanna put that NB HSF on the SB and put a new on on the NB?

Just used those twisty ties n strap a little NB fan on there. buy it from a local computer store.

Thanx for the help guys, I used AS adhesive with a Vantec copper HSF kit I got from svc.com. Everything looks great, just need some high quality ram now🙂.
