I have the EPOX 8K7A board and I am interested in getting as much out of the FSB as possible...I notice that I can up the RAM voltage by as much as .4 however I have no idea if this is safe or not...What voltage are others who have this setup running at? Is there any guide to determine how high is too high? As always, any suggestions or information is greatly appreciated....

Thanks,

Jason

I was talking with someone from crucial, and although they refuse to speak much about overclocking, they mentioned that 2.7 volts is inside the 10% margin from 2.5, so it should be safe, providing you have good ventilation. I am running the CL2.5 PC2100 from crucial at 160, at 8882222, and 2.5V. Must have gotten a good one, but it doesn't want to go above 161 without mroe voltage. I am going to try 2.6 first.

WildeBeast,
EDIT: run 8882622
I'm running 8862222 only because other people were.
How did you choose 8882222?
Do you know what default cas 2 ram's settings would be?
Thanks

Hey Curt, funny thing, I am also arbitrarily using 8882222 because other are. The only setting that I understand is the 2 vs 2.5 latency option, 2 being better and preferable. I got good ram I guess, but most PC2100 will do 150 to 160 one way or another, probably at 2.5 though

<< defauilt cas2 is usually 8872522 >>

no; this is not the default for Cas 2.0 on my board (7DXR): It's 88103523 for my Nanya PC2100 CL 2.0
