Safe voltage increase in Celeron II?

I have a 566 on order and I was wonder how much I can increase without getting too high to hit 850.

Back with the older Celeron were at 2.0v, .2v increase was about the limit of what most people would recommend. Anything above that makes me really nervous.

I was wondering if these CeleronIIs have a slightly higher tolerance because Coppermines run at 1.6v rather than 1.5v. I know this is because of the smaller cache, but....

Thanks

btw: I will be using a modified FDP32 in a full tower Inwin case with a mobo temp of ~78F.

i do believe that most mobo manufacturers recommend 10% over as maximum.

mine runs very well at 1.7 on a generic slocket on a bh6. some folks have had to push theres to 1.9. i would say that this is max, but there may be exceptions. be sure to use a good heatsink/fan on these chips.

good luck,

dirty

Perhaps, but that's just plain nutty. :p

Actually, what's interesting is the next page, looking at the Celeron II voltages. Voltages range from 1.5-1.7 to 1.65-1.7.

What is that 1.7?

Anyways, judging by the numbers, I still say that 1.8 is fine for 800+ speeds, but 1.9 is pushing it.

Don't do 1.9 or over unless you have good cooling. Having said that, I have run 2 different chips at 1.95 for an extended period of time with no problem.

Just to be sure . When you set voltage on slotket, you set voltage in bios ,for motherboard, at "default"? I`m using a BH6 board.

Yes it's generally recommended to set the voltage on the slocket to default and make your adjustments in the soft Bios of the BH6. There is a trick to getting a higher voltage than 1.7V. Reflash your Bios after setting the voltage to 1.7V. using the /cc switch. I can post the long decription if needed.
Some set the slocket to 1.7V and then adjust from there.

NS, Thanks I understand the bios /cc clears the CMOS. But if you set the sloket at ,say 1.70, does the soft menu start at 1.70 and go up from there?
