Safe voltage for T-bred "B"?

I read in another forum about cpu sudden death syndrome cropping up in t-breds running 2.0v and higher. Does anyone have any data on a safe max voltage? I have two 1700+ cpu's that hit 2100MHz at 1.80-1.85v. I have temporarily backed down to 2000MHz at 1.725v to be safe. What is everybody else running their t-bred "B" at?
 
My bios is set at 1.775volts, but the monitoring progy with my Epox 8RDA say's 1.79volts and i'm running 1.9gig. I tried 2gig at 1.825 but that was no go, and it won't do 1.9gig with any less.
 
I'm at 1.75V right now (158FSB*12.5) on my XP1700+ Thoroughbred B, and would like to go a bit higher (temps are around 43C), but am afraid to do so. Apparently it's ok to go up to 1.8V, according to some of you. Any other opinions?
 
I too agree the max should be 1.85 volts and even if you have great cooling (water or ...?) you still have to contend with electromigration which is the real killer (If I`m not mistaken heat does increase this effect...?) I currently have an XP1700+ Tbred B running 2250mhz @ 1.81 volts and have no plans on going over 1.85 with this chip... 😉
 
Heres what I use for my 2100+...

2.4ghz - 1.9v (prime 95 stable overvolts to 1.92)
2.3ghz - 1.775v (prime 95 stable, overvolts to 1.79)

My computer runs 24/7, using high-end air cooling (AlphaPAL 8045).

I wouldn't recommend over 1.8v for everyday use unless you have extreme cooling.
 
opps sorry about that other post... i ran my 2100 at 2.1v for about 6 hours just to see what i would get, 2377. but i wouldnt go over 1.85v if you have a good hs and fan.
 
If anyone's stillfollowing this thread, what do you think about this: I have my XP1700 "A" running at 1.9GHz(10x190MHz CAS2)@1.82v - The external thermistor in the CPU socket reports 47 degrees and the on-die thermistor reports 65 degress. This is all after running Prime95 for a couple hours. The temps drop about 10-15 degress when idle. Is this pushing the thermal limiits too much, or is it okay? For the record, I can do 1.85GHz@1.72v and 1.8GHz@1.67v. So, am I frying my CPU as we speak?

I think you need to read that again. 2V+ can lead to sudden death, but voltages near that have nasty effects than can cause failure as well, electromigration, etc...
 
Yeah, I'm trying to avoidm ore thanjust instant death. This CPU needs to last another 8-10 months. At 1.8v I think I'll be okay.
