Safe to transfer data from a bad sector HD to new one?

I am trying to transfer some important data from a HD with bad sectors to a new one. The data is readable; the bad HD just have problems saving new data. I'm thinking of plugging it into an external enclosure and transfer the data over to the new HD. Is this safe to do?

Yes it's safe, but be aware that the data copied to the new drive could be corrupted and/or unreadable. But you're not going to harm the new drive in any way.
