I got a Dell P991 Flat trinitron monitor a few months (3/28/02) back directly from dell with the aid of the hot deals section. I've been running the monitor at 1024x768 32bits@ 85Hz. Dunno why i never noticed it before, but the screen like shakes or flickers (like if the refresh rate is running at 50Hz or something. lol).. It is very noticeable on white backgrounds. Anyway, when I set it to 100Hz, it seems to help the shaking/flickering a lot.. but u can still notice it a little if u stare real hard on a white background. Now, Dell recommends that the monitor should be run at 85Hz because it is the safe refresh rate or whatever. So is it okay to just run it at 100Hz.. Also, how good is dell support concerning peripherals purchased directly from them. Cause i think this monitor is bad or failing. How long is their warranty? thanks

don't know much about Dell warranty's, but i can tell you that one of my ex-roomates ran his old school KDS monitor @ 100 HZ refresh for 3 years straight and had no problems, you're monitor should be able to handle that just fine. If it looks better to you , go for it.
