We've been told by local media to not run air-conditioning units, but it's just too bloody hot. I had a quick walk around my condo complex and almost every third house had theirs running. What are you guys doing?

You can get a towel and dunk it in cold water... then wrap that sucker around your neck. Thats what I did on my drive down to LA from Oregon WITHOUT A/C.

Ours is on and so is our neighbors. However, his is a window unit and ours is a central ac system. Bringing down the grid one house at a time.

The morons on our local radio are paranoid about the power going out again. They've been harping on about not turning on AC units and stressing the grid.

I had the fullest intentions of turning on my AC and leaving it on, all night. I was just curious as to what you lot thought. I was expecting a chorus of, "Don't be an ignorant prick! Leave it off!" from the self-righteous that inhabit this place.

i didnt turn mine on, because it's damned expensive.

i dont have AC in my car either, it's broken, the compressor's siezed, and a replacement would cost more than the car is worth.

the reason i personally didn't tell u not to keep it off is during los angeles power crissis i keep my ac on and ignore the request to use all major appliances after 7:00 pm
