My office mates are telling me that it's not safe to reheat shrimp/prawns. They're all from the UK and I'm from the US. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Why would you heat it to begin with? Bacteria tastes good!
As far as 'reheating' it, as long as you don't set anything on fire in the process, there shouldn't be any problem. The only reason you cook anything is to kill nasty bacteria. Once the food reaches 185 degrees (inside food temp), it will kill off the bacteria that everyone fears....after that, the only thing that might hurt you is if the food is spoiled, etc. So you need to ask your office mates where they get their info from because it doesn't sound scientific as that crap I just told you.![]()

supposedly leaving crab in-shell and reheating is not a good idea. I would assume unshelled shrimp would be the same.
Like I stated in my original post. The only thing you have to fear from seafood is bacteria... As long as the food gets hot enough, the bacteria will die. Nuking the food in the microwave will still kill it, but you have to cook it a while...therefore, as long as it's been cooked long enough the first time however you like, <bubba voice>boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, poached shrimp on toast, etc</bubba voice>, it should be ok to reheat it.Their response is that there's something that the nuker doesn't kill that is the bad stuff.
