not as fast as ordering from amazon directly, IMO, but I've never had a problem with it. I've gotten some great deals on used books/cds that way.

Just purchased 2 more books on there from 3rd party sellers. I got all my books for this semester that way and I sell them back the same way.

as mentioned, not as quick but all of my items have arrived. I try to buy from sellers with at least a few hundred transactions under their belt. Be sure to check their ratings as well.

I've never had trouble with it. Obviously don't buy from the guy with all negative ratings.

Look at their fraud policy...it is great.

I bought a powerbook off of amazon marketplace and got a great deal with zero hassle...and amazon protected it 100% against fraud or false advertising.

i've ordered around 30-40 items from other sellers on amazon (mostly dvds and music cds) and i've yet to have a single problem. i tend to stick with sellers with at least a couple hundred ratings, though.

If I order things from more than 1 seller, will they all arrive at different times, or will the whole package come when the slowest thing arrives?

They come at different times..Amazon isn't doing the shipping..think about it ;)

I bought most of my books from half.com -- got one in three days..another took about two weeks.

I've ordered dozens of things and have never had a problem. Some are faster than others. You can check their feedback.

I would take care when ordering electronics from these users, sometimes they may be listed as a brand name product but the product description reads differently. I had this unfortunate experience once, but the seller was very nice about it and refunded my money with shipping. Bottom line, make sure you read the descriptions and check seller ratings and you should be good.

I don't see how this is true, I looked up my books for this semester and the best deals were only $10 less on average than I could find them used at the school bookstore.

You have any tips? I checked out half.com as well.

I never had a problem with amazon sellers. I can get it on the cheap, and usually can sell back the book assuming it's still current at the end of the quarter for about a 10% loss.
