Safe to keep my Tbird 1.1ghz running at 1265 mhz constantly?

I have a Epox 8kta2L (KT133e chipset) + tbird 1.1ghz (200fsb).

Never cared to OC, but I just turned the clock up to 115 x 11, so i'm running at 1265 mhz. Everything is running smoothly, and there's no overheating. I'm getting better frames also, so I was wondering if I can keep my settings like this permanently? Will this result in any damages to the cpu in the long run?

Thanks! :)

running any chip out of spec is always more damaging to the chip...the question is how damaging and when wil it start to show that damage....

I figure in your case since it apperas you have not raised the vcore any and the temps are not high...I see minimal damage you are likely not to see in the life you own the chip....

how exactly does one raise the Vcore anyway? sorry for the stupid question, but the only thing about Vcore I ever see is that it's always at 1.65 in my BIOS readings. thanks for the help guys!

Well first off that chip is spec'd to run at 1.75v at default....If you can get it to run at lower vcore and remain stable that is even better...However if the vcore can be adjusted up to 1.75v you may be able to oc it a bit higher and still not really be effecting its lifespan that much....The temps will rasie slightly, so beware...

Vcore adjustment should be on same part in the bios where you change frequency...

Are you reading the 1.65v in the hardware monitor??? Cause that usually is an actual reading and may be sign your board undervolts...not necessarily a bad thing in your case...

I guess my memory is pretty bad, b/c the Vcore is actually at 1.79v. AGP Core is at 1.57v, 3v is at 3.33, 5v is at 4.88, and 12v is slightly above 12.

However, I have no option to change voltage settings in BIOS, so I guess my current settings are as high as I can go? How come my RAM clock says 153mhz?
