I have an OEM version of a FIC AZ31 motherboard. There are some differences between the retail and the oem but they are basically the same. The board has a crippled version of the retail's bios(can't adjust the multiplier, etc). Also the retail doesn't have that stupid logo when you boot the computer. (one that could easily be changed to say Compaq since this mobo is from a Compaq computer anyway) Is it safe to flash the oem board with the retail bios?

There are the differences between the 2 boards:

<< Addendum for the uWave Motherboard (OEM version of the FIC AZ31).

Please note that this board differs in the following ways from the retail version of the FIC AZ31 motherboard:

The UWave board does not have the following:
CD-IN3 -- 3rd CD Sound Input
MAGIC_TUNER -- CPU Over Voltage Jumper
NOVUS -- Audio Alert Module
CASE_FAN -- Case Fan Power Header

The UWave boards PANELSW (Front Panel Block Connectors) differ from the AZ31 as well, see the PCB board for the connectors. Please note that the Sleep Switch is disabled.

Hey, I'm not an expert on this, but since no one has responded to your post, I'll try helping with my limited knowledge.

Don't people usually make back-up when flashing? I sure did make a backup with mine. So if you make a back-up of your current bios and the upgrade flash doesn't work, you can always revert to the previous bios (which you saved).

I hope that helps! :D

It looks like there aren't that much people on today, which is quite odd. So, bear with me and my limited knowledge! :D
