Is it safe to flash my AGP 6800 GT to an Ultra BIOS? Specifically Thugsrock's Gainward GS Ultra BIOS. It hasn't been stable with the GT BIOS and I was wondering if the Ultra BIOS would work better.

No, the Gainward GS 6800GT BIOS was unstable. I've also overclocked the card and replaced the stock cooling twice.

1st of its not a Ultra bios, its a GT bios and we use it on Ultras as GT has tighter Ram timmings, this alone at same clocks gives me 300 points more in 3D Mark 2005.

He said he no longer wanted peeps on GT's to use the 1.5 or 1.6v (its one of these)modded bios as the PCB couldnt handle it and cards were going to fail.

Only supports the Ultra now he said.

So when i use this bios i then get my card detected as a GT and clocks are well lower than Ultra, i then use rivatuner to rename it back to a Ultra and clock core and ram back to defaults and beyond.

I changed volts to 1.6v myself so not sure why his aint showing up this volts as i thopugh it was, unless he dropped volts to stop peeps f00king the GT's lol.

What he basically did at most before reverting volts back was , lowered 2D volts and core mhz (runs cooler), he left 2D ram alone as if its set to a diff speed than 3D you get issues, he then gave upto 1.6v on 3D and lets you set core and ram to what you can, but remeber 2D slider for ram will follow the 3D one as you move it up.

I guess I'll try getting a working floppy drive and flash it back to the stock BFG BIOS.

When uping the vgpu on my old one it would OC a little bit highier but it would also hard lock from the voltage.
