My gf is lactose intolerant so when we grocery shop, we buy lactaid milk for her and regular for me. I was wondering first of all if its safe to for a nonlactose intolerant person to drink it, and secondly if it is safe, does it contain all the nutrition I'd need/get from regular milk?

What do you mean by lactose intolerant? Do you fart a lot after eating cheese or drinking milk?

yes, it is perfectly fine to drink it.

I am lactose intolerant and I buy Natrel lactose free milk:

The chocolate milk is the bomb!

Lactose-intolerant people do not produce enough lactase (the enzyme that breaks down lactose). Lactaid is normal milk with the lactose removed. All that means is your body's lactase will go unneeded/unused when you drink it, much like when you drink any other fluid that doesn't contain lactose.

Lactaid tastes identical to normal milk. No safety concerns and identical nutrition-wise.

What the heck kind of question is this?

Interesting note: The ability to digest milk was evolved as recently as 40,000 years ago, with the advent of dairy farming. This means that people who are lactose intolerant are less exolved.

Our dormitory floor had a gallon milk drinking contest. The winner waited to tell everyone he was lactose intolerant until he had won. Everyone practically had to leave the floor because it smelled so bad that night.

Someone set up us the bomb!

Guess he didn't get the cramps and pain that some people get.

Concerning the Lactaid milk - if it doesn't say "WARNING: If you are not lactose intolerant, do not drink this!" then I'd assume that you should be fine.

It's a fact: Everyone who drinks Lactaid will DIE!!!!

Don't do it man. Your GF just doesn't know how to end a relationship, so she has chosen this way instead.

the milk will taste slightly sweeter than regular milk because the Lactose sugar is broken down into two smaller sugars (galactose and glucose?) that are just as sweet individually as the combined product. I personally prefer the slight sweetness :)
