Safe to delete the /OLS dir in Win98/Me install dir?

I'm wondering if it's okay to delete the /OLS directory inside the Win98/Me install directory. I know it's okay after an install (assuming you don't use any of the online service crap), but is it okay to delete before an install? Will the installer look for the folder and crash/give an error if it's not there?
