Safe to connect YS Tech 80mm fan to MoBo Fan Header ??

I will be getting next week the AX-7 HS with the YS TECH Speed Control NFD1281259B-2F fan. Is it safe to connect this fan to the Fan Header on my Soltek DRV2 MoBo or will it damage the MoBo ? I checked the MoBo's manual and it does not mention the fan header handling capacity.

check the current rating on the fan. If it's rated in amperes, multiply that by 12 (voltage) to get the wattage. mobos are safe with a fan wattage of 5W or less. You may be able to go over that, but then you might be taking a chance of burning out the header. if there is a question, connect it directly to your PSU and there is no worries

Thanks for the reply - the fan in question is 3.12w so I suppose it should be safe plugging in this fan on the MoBo's fan header.
