Does anyone know if the yellow tinge of death thing is over or at least not affecting the 21.5" models? My wife needs an iMac for school but I am not going to spend the money if this problem is still happening.

I'd say a lot of the problems were with the 27" Panels. The 21.5" weren't delayed at all on shipment like the 27's were.

We have a few (4) of the 27's in the office, and since the announcement of the problem (we ordered right after) there has been no issues. There has also been a few updates, one on the panel itself and then another on the graphics for the 27's. The broken panel problems are just blatant shipping issues

I'd say it would be safe to go either route. 27 is my vote.

you're fine. my friend bought a 21.5" a 1-2 months ago and she didnt have the yellow screen. honestly, even the 27" would be safe to get, if it were me.

Agreed. The 21.5 never had any of the same issues. The 27s are
no longer having the issues, either. That's why shipping was delayed and has sped up since, they fixed the glitch :)

Do you think the 24" will make a comeback?

doubtful, unless you get a refurb one. they made the 21.5" almost the same resolution as 24" (dont get me wrong, i hate 16:9 and prefer 16:10), so i think they are content with it.

We just got around a dozen of them set up at work for the devs and none have had any issues.

Just bought a 27" myself. No problems out of the box. i did see the update for the display and installed it to be safe. Still humming right along. It is a sight to behold... 1080p video looks great. The sound is great for built-in speakers too.

Just got it back from the shop. Somehow, a crack in the glass LED cover appeared after I got home from work the other day. No idea how it got there. No one else was in my house unless a burglar got in undetected by my alarm system and decided to crack it instead of stealing it. I chalk it up to heat? Applecare wouldn't cover it as they said it was "physical" damage. $85 for a replacement glass, but my local reseller covered it for me. No charge.
