Safe temps?

I just ran prime for about 4 hours with no errors. My temps maxed out at 70c under full load for cores 1 and 2 and 67 for the other 2 cores. Is that safe? My voltage was at 1.326 under full load. I have a B stepping and a G0 revision.

Bare in mind that Prime95 Blend needs to run for about 10 hours to complete a full cycle. I believe the same is true for Prime Small FTT. The former stresses your memory sub-system + CPU while the latter focusses more on your CPU.

70 Celsius is getting on the high side. You ideally want to hit the 60's max. Similarly if you go and run LinX which stresses your CPU/memory sub-system (this northbridge) to the max you will find CPU temperature increase further still, by about a further 10% from my experience.

Why not invest in an excellent cooler such as the Noctua NH-D14? Austrian made with german precision and of course excellent performance (I have one). The only caveat it to first check compatibility with your motherboard and case (case width especially).

Check them out on their website

Those temps sound fine, depending on clock speed.

Now, if you are running 2ghz, they might be a little high ..

Anything below 80 ( full load ) I wouldn't worry about...
