Safe Temp window for HDD's?

Got a pair of Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 drives and they often run up to 50C. I have a slimline fan to install in the case to cool them, but I was wondering if running up to 50C is so bad in small bursts?

They spin down after 3mins of inactivity and calmly sit there ~35C.
 
Probably fine. I was curious once and looked up the info for Western Digital Caviar Black, and the maximum operating temperature they listed was 60ºC.
