Safe, Reliable Password Safe?

I keep a certain number of banks on my Samsung Tablet. I don't know why they do it, but some have features not available on desktop or some that work differently. Almost seems they want you to have and use both. Most will allow the native/resident password utilities to save passwords, but some will not. They require you to enter it manually.

Is there a password safe for Android that will bypass the banks' requirements and save passwords regardless of what the banks want, allow or disallow? It must be foolproof in that it will not lock ME out or require silly steps.

My tablet never leaves my house, so I'm not too worried about it getting into anyone elses hands.

I've yet to run into that problem /w bitwarden. Not to say I havent had to pick it more than once to get it done, but it's always worked for me.

I think they try to avoid pasting to prevent automation. But anyone who wants to automate something can find ways around that easily, it really just bugs the good use cases.

My passwords have odd characters, the kind that are far less used and that you have to go to the second symbol screen to get. That makes typing them extra difficult on a mobile with a stylus or finger. I've taken to keeping them more or less in the open on a notes program where I can copy them to paste during log-in. Obviously not the best of practices.

So self host bitwarden? It should work and it's much safer than any native password things. And honestly, it's the length of the passwords usually that helps more so than special characters. Use a sentance.

The keepass app allows you to select the site. Once you do that you swipe down from the top of the screen and you can copy the username or password and then paste it into the form. No idea if that would work with your bank though. Their PC app allows custom autotype which is way more convenient.

I use Lastpass. Yes they have been hacked, but I haven't. I now have 2FA setup, using a yubikey.
