safe overlcok on I7 950 with asus p6t se ? i paln to OC my i7 950 with most safe clock speed ... i don't plan to OC it to 4.5 or 4.2 ghz ...

my goal is like 3.8 max overclock with auto voltage if it is possible.. and some nice cooler to keep temps fine ... is this possible with my mainboard ?

Yeah. Probably. Depends on the chip. Its a silicon lottery. Some are good overclockers. Others arent

Don't leave voltage on auto, it basically overvolts. I wouldn't do auto even at stock speeds.

All chips are different as well as the board performance (bios tuning)

I thought when i first bought my "good" batch D0 i7 920 that I would be able to do the same thing. Needs 1.35v at 3.8Ghz but luckily it will also do that at 4Ghz.

Max Vcore for Nehalem is 1.55v 1.45 will need serious cooling which would be ? 4.2 - 4.5Ghz range and at that delta is not worth it, IMO
