Recently got a new motherboard to compensate for poor performance from my 6800. From what people told me, my 400fsb 2.0ghz processor was holding my card back. With my new motherboard (asus) it has an auto-overclock feature, 15-20-30%. I set it on each and noticed no ill effects even at 30%. Used a 99.9% silver thermal gel on the new install and my processor temperatures stay at 29-35 celsius, compared to my previous 32-50 celsius with the standard thermal pad. So, because my computer remains stable at a 30% overclock to 2.6 ghz, is it safe to leave it at this speed? It seems like a big jump to me, but it really has helped my FPS on all levels. Before i had a source stress test at 65, now its 85. So tell me, do i have to worry about voltage, ram, blowing up problems?
