What do you all reckon that the safe operating temperature is for the system temp and CPU temperature???
I am currently aiming to build a quieter PC and this means running fans in "silent" mode (1,300-1,500rpm) and doing away with any case fans. I currently have a Zalman Flower cooler on an AthlonXP 2100, a "Quiet" 300w ATX power supply and a fanless Northbridge Chip. I have a VGA heatsink and SilentDrive Hard Drive Cooler on order. Having no case fans and running fans at low speed means that my cooling stats are as follows:
idle (running normally for a couple of hours)
System 29c
CPU 39c
Under load (running SiSoft Sandra CPU benchmark repeatedly 15 times):
System 35c
CPU 51c
What is ideal and what can I get away with? Is there any way of telling if I have adequate cooling for my Graphics Card (Hightech ATI Radeon 8500 64Mb) once I have installed the new heatsink???
