Safe lyrics sites?

I usually just google the lyrics and click on the first site that is actually pertaining to the band, which is usually on page 2.

Er...lyrics are text, right? I thought the thread title was speaking of the language used in songs. I'm glad I don't use Windows.

I've started to block URLs with the word lyrics in them for many of my clients. I've seen a large decrease in the amount of spyware/trojan calls from said clients.

Don't surf the web without it.

I don't think I can check my email with Mozilla. At least I can't with Opera because Gmail uses ActiveX

I use mozilla firefox to check my gmail all the time. In fact, there are a few extensions that automatically check it for you and give a notification. They work really well.

I go to lyrics sites (whatever google brings up first) all the time while using IE and yet to have been infected. I do have the XP firewall enabled, a hardware firewall, updated virus definitions, and a pop-up blocker.

Maybe i'm being ignorant but how do you get a trojan (not just a cookie) from just visiting a site? I never click "yes" to install anything and i'm up to date on all patches....

That's what I thought. Apparently there's some sort of security hole that they're taking advantage of. I recall a thread a week or so about it. Someone who does tech support had figured out one of the sites that did it on his clients computer. I wish I had bookmarked that thread or asked for the specific URL.

But, as always, continuously update your Windows to get the newest fixes that they have. Then you're only 1 step behind the hackers.
