Safari settings on iPad question...

I have a 1st generation iPod Touch. Had to pay $20 for two operating system updates, but I think that's a pretty decent price since I got it at a company raffle. ($20 for a wi-fi video/music player/pda)

Anyway one of my concerns has always been the 'load everything' feature of Safari on the iPod. Sometimes (like when my bandwidth is tight) or when I just want the text information, having the browser load everything is kind of meh.

As far as I know there is still no way to turn off that feature. I posted on the Apple Forums a few times and the last response I got was the same (no way to change the settings on what Safari loads.)

Since the iPad runs similarly to the iPod Touch I was wondering if there Apple updated Safari so one can decide what you want to load. I have not been able to test an iPad and I was curious.

Thanks!

No way to do it as far as I know. Since it doesn't display Flash, I imagine the amount of data being transferred is rather small anyway.

There is no way - either through jailbreaking or otherwise - that I know to do this on either the Touch or the iPad.

Edit: Looks like Phynaz's solution solves it.

Hey thanks guys...I'll check it out...

LOL looks like Apple just killed my Apple account. My handle is no longer valid. Great another feature. Worked fine yesterday.

Thou hast spoken blasphemy about the all mighty Apple! This is your punishment ;)

Atomic Web Browser offers the possibility to turn off images. It also has a perfect full-screen mode. There's a Lite version at the store, give it a go :)

Unfortunately no. It uses the same version of mobile safari AFAIK. Hopefully Opera will release an iPad version of Mini.
