Safari keeps calling tools.google.com

So my firewall tells me every time safari is trying to connect to this site. Why is it doing that? I do not have xmarks running, I dont ever remember installing google sync.

I see that there have also been accesses to apis.google.com but i assume that is because the websites i visit happen to use some google apis.

Curiously, google seems not to find any other posts on the net about this. If it's google analytics and i installed the opt-out extension, why would it still be happening?
