Opera users, is checking out safari worth my time and energy? Does this thing have mouse gestures (can't do without them!).
I am a long time Opera user, currently on 9.20, and it is by far, my favourite browser.
Is Safari based off the Gecko engine?
Personally, I don't see the point of releasing this for Windows. Sure, it's great for web developers that don't have to switch over to Mac to test rendering in Safari, but other than that, do we really need yet another browser? And yes, this might be to drum up support for iPhone developers (since the only 'platform' for the iPhone is Safari) but I just don't get it.
Also, I can't stand that they keep that Mac look and feel. Guess what Apple, you wrote the software for Windows! Why not try to make it look like it fits in?

No, it uses Apple's fork of KHTML.

You just mentioned 2 semi-big reasons why Apple should do this and then you say that you don't get it?

Why should Apple worry about UI consistency with Windows when MS won't even do it with their own apps? =)

Safari 3.01 update: link
Personally I feel that Safari is not even in the beta stage. It should be called alpha which would be much more fitting with the performance of this software.
