Safari and Amazon.com (.m3u browser streaming)

Hello,

I'm new to the mac world and have been enjoying it so far. The only issue I have had as of late is that when I visit the amazon.com page (and any other page that streams m3u), the sample opens in iTunes instead of streaming in Safari. Also, when I try to open Amazon's music sampler, it does not load. I am told to download a new version of Flash, which I have done a couple times. When I try the page through Firefox, it works fine streaming the music in the browser. I have also tried the streaming music on a friend's mac and it works fine in the Safari browser on his.

I have Snow Leopard updated according to the update utility. Safari is version 4.0.4. The Flash is completely updated according to the Adobe site, and same with Quicktime.

I know this is kinda picky and all, but I prefer the streaming in browser rather than having to load iTunes. Also, I don't like the way iTunes handles those files when they load. I have tried searching google many times for a solution and searched these forums, but to no avail. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Link? I can't find where you're streaming m3u files on Amazon.com and just wanted to investigate this for myself.

I have installed Firefox, and everything does work fine. However, I have come to like Safari more than Firefox, besides this little bug that's bothering me.

Here is an example link: http://www.amazon.com/Songs-Freedom-...5132045&sr=8-4

It's the play icon next to each song. Every time I click one, it downloads the .m3u file and boots up iTunes. Also, the link that brings up a music sampler (Listen To All) keeps telling me I don't have an updated version of Flash, which I do.

Anyways, it's been doing this with most of the streaming music I have found. It downloads and .m3u and boots iTunes.

Odd.. and you don't have any addons installed in Safari? This is working perfectly fine in Safari for me, so it's got to be a configuration thing.. or something isn't working right in Flash.

Have you tried to uninstall Flash via Adobe's tool and then reinstall?

You could also try the new Flash 10.1 beta, has been well for me for well over 2 months.
