Safari 6 "stalls"

Wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. I use multiple Macs between home and work and have not found this issue to be consistent between them.

On my rMBP, Safari 6 doesn't exhibit the issue. I don't use my GMA 950 Mac Mini enough with Lion + Safari 6 to see it, but my Mid 2011 iMac at work does.

Essentially Safari 6 will work fine for a while, browse to sites, load everything as normal, perform asynchronous calls without issue, etc. Then spontaneously, I'll click a link or go to load a new page and all network traffic stalls in the browser. The blue progress-bar-background in the 'omnibar' will make it about the width of the domain name of the URL and just stick there forever. No further network communication will work in the browser until it is relaunched -- then it's fine for a while until it stalls again.

I noticed this issue when I installed Safari 6 in Lion on the iMac (it was fine with 5.1) and have since updated that system to Mountain Lion and the problem persists. I'm trying it with 10.8.1 right now but didn't see anything in the changelog about Safari specifically.

No other browsers stall and system-wide networking continues to work while Safari is broken.

Anyone notice this? It's gotten to me enough that I think I'll be filing a bug report on it if it persists in 10.8.1...

I noticed it a bit in the ML betas, but haven't since it actually released. Let me pay closer attention to it and see if I notice it. Will report back if I do.

I had this happen once a couple weeks back. Haven't yet had the issue again, but it was quite annoying.

This just happened to me (it's how I found this thread) on a Mid-2009 13" MBP running Mountain Lion. I've been using Safari quite a lot since I installed ML a few weeks ago, but the stalling happened just now for the first time. Sometimes pages do load, but they take a mighty long time. At first I thought it was just the connection, until I tried the same pages in Chrome and loaded them instantly.

Happily enough, since I posted this I haven't noticed the problem in 10.8.1, but I'm remaining cautiously optimistic. We'll see what today's full workday does to Safari :)
